EVE-NG System Requirements
EVE-NG is currently released as an OVA file and ISO. An OVA is a Open Virtual Appliance format. It’s an archive (TAR) which holds disks and configuration file (OVF or Open Virtualization File) for the virtual machine. EVE-NG can be also directly installed on the physical hardware, without any virtualization by use of ISO image. Because EVE-NG runs many hypervisor, it’s strongly recommended a physical server dedicated for it, without any virtualization software. Mind that nested virtualization is not a good thing and can lead to poor performance.
EVE-NG requires:
Intel VT-x/EPT ( or AMD-V/RVI capable processor but not supported by EVE-NG Team )
One of the following:
Ubuntu 16.04 64bit (suggested with any processors).
VMware ESXi 6.0 or later
VMware Workstation 12.5 or later
VMware Fusion 8 or later
VMware Player 12.5 or later
VIRTUAL BOX DOESN’T SUPPORT HW ACCELERATION !!! AVOID USING IT !!!!
Required CPU and RAM depend on how many nodes are needed to run. 2 CPU and 4GB of RAM can be enough for IOU/IOL and Dynamips only, but will be insufficient for topology with CSR1000V routers.
In other words the EVE-NG requirements are the same for nested ESXi virtualization or Cisco VIRL/CML. EVE-NG can still works without Intel VT processors and can run installed within other hypervisors also But:
64 bits (x86_64) appliances won’t work.
Poor performances should be expected with 32 bits (i386) appliances.

EVE-NG ก็คือโปรแกรมจำลองอุปกรณ์ Network และ เครื่อง server หรือ client ให้เหล่าผู้ที่สนใจฝึกจำลองด้านระบบเครือข่ายได้ทดลองกันได้ฟรีๆ บน Web GUI interface
การติดตั้ง EVE-NG ดังนี้
1.Download Image EVE-NG ได้ที่ http://www.eve-ng.net/index.php/downloads/eve-ng
Image EVE-NG จะมี 2 แบบ
1.1. เลือกเป็นไฟล์ OVA สำหรับ Run บน VMWare Exsi , VMWare Workstation,Vmware Player
1.2. เลือกเป็น ISO ไฟล์ สำหรับติดตั้งเป็น OS เลย สามารถติดตั้งบน VMWare Exsi หรือ อื่นๆ
2.นำ Image EVE-NG นำเข้าโปรแกรม VMWare Workstation (ในตัวอย่างผมใช้ VMWare Workstation และเลือกใช้ Import OVA File )
3. ตั้งชื่อ VM และเลือก ตำแหน่งที่จะเก็บไฟล์ Image หลังจากนั้นเลือก Import
4.หลังจาก Import เรียบร้อย Start VM ==>
หลังจาก Start ครั้งแรกให้ login User : root Password : eve และหลังจากเข้าระบบจะให้ Setup ค่าพื้นฐาน อาทิ เช่น password ของ root
ชื่อ Host Name Domain IP Address และอื่นๆ
หลังจาก Setup เรียบร้อย ระบบจะ Restart 1 ครั้ง
หรือคำสั่ง ปิดเครื่อง คือคำสั่งนี้
#shutdown -h now
หลังจาก Boot EVE-NG สั่งเกตุว่ายังมี Error โชว์ขึ้นมา แก้ไขดังนี้
แก้ไขดังนี้
1.ไปที่ Edit virtual machine setting ==>Hardware ==>Processors==>
ติ๊กถูก Virtualize Intel VT-x
เรียบร้อยแล้วลองกด Start เพื่อเริ่ม EVE-NG เพื่อดูว่ายังมี Error อยู่ใหม
หากว่ายังมี Error ให้แก้ไขโดยเพิ่มคำสั่งนี้ลงในไฟล์ Image

5.หลังจากนั้น ให้ Shutdown EVE-NG อีกครั้ง เพื่อทำการเพิ่ม Card Lan สำหรับ EVE โดยการ์ดแลน ต้องมีอย่างน้อย 2 ขึ้นไป โดยที่มากับ Image มีแค่ Card เดียว
โดย Add Card โดยให้เป็น Nat เพื่อให้ Lab ที่ ทดสอบสามารถออกเน็ตได้
หลังจากเพิ่มการ์ด Lan เรียบร้อย ให้ทำการ Start EVE-NG อีกครัง
6.แล้วเข้าหน้า Web Manage ตาม IP Address ที่ได้ มา
User เข้าครั้งแรก user : admin Password : eve
